Blackbaud Security Incident

Dear Friends of Rochester Regional Health,

We are writing to let you know of a recent data security incident involving a company called Blackbaud, Inc. (“Blackbaud”). Blackbaud is a company that provides cloud database and fundraising management tools for many non-profit organizations, such as the Rochester Regional Health Foundations. Blackbaud recently notified us, as well as hundreds of other organizations that use its products, that it was impacted by a ransomware event. According to Blackbaud, in May 2020, ransomware was deployed within Blackbaud’s environment and some data was exfiltrated out of its systems.

Since learning of the situation, we at Rochester Regional Health Foundations have been working to get additional information about the incident. We have learned that the incident could have resulted in someone having access to some of your personal information, including contact information. Please note that any additional or sensitive information of yours was encrypted and not part of this incident.

We value the trust you place in our Foundations and take our responsibility to safeguard personal information seriously. We apologize for any inconvenience or concern this incident may cause you. If you wish to contact the Foundations directly, call 585-922-4800.
