The Seat Naming Campaign is an opportunity for members within the community to name auditorium seats in the College of Health Careers or donate directly to support College of Health programs and scholarships.
Donate Donate (RRH Employees)To meet the growing need for experienced nurses, Rochester Regional Health recently created the College of Health Careers. Included in the College of Health Careers is the successful Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing, which has been helping students become licensed practical nurses, or LPNs, for more than 50 years.
Many of those students want to continue their studies and become registered nurses, or RNs, but – until the College of Health Careers started its RN program – it could take years before students could find a spot in a program. Now, more students have the opportunity to become RNs, and the Rochester region has more of the highly trained nurses it needs.
The College of Health offers studies in respiratory therapy, surgical technology, dental assistance, and more. The new space features advanced technology, such as state-of-the-art simulation labs, to provide students with the training to support their future careers.

The health care community as a whole is already facing a nursing shortage, and several nurses left the profession due to the pandemic. Plus, the average age for nurses is 58, which means many will retire soon and leave even more open positions.
Thankfully, the College of Health can help with both the number of qualified nurses entering the field and the diversity of those nurses.
